Management Roles (Finance Department), Town of Whitby

The Town of Whitby is one of Canada’s fastest growing communities located in the heart of Durham Region in southern Ontario. It is home to approximately 140,000 residents and more than 2,200 businesses and is the second largest municipality in the Regional Municipality of Durham. Whitby combines a small-town welcoming atmosphere with the amenities of a larger urban centre. Whitby boasts two beautiful heritage downtowns, the largest family entertainment centrum east of Toronto, one of the finest recreational harbours with an award-winning marina, year-round sports and recreation activities, parks, trails, and a robust arts, culture, and food scene.

The Town is recruiting for two management roles in the Town’s Financial Services department.

Reporting to the Commissioner, Financial Services, the Manager, Revenue is responsible for managing the property tax, assessment, cashiering and other revenue functions for the Town of Whitby.

Reporting to the Commissioner of Financial Services, the Senior Manager, Financial Planning is responsible for partnering with all Town departments to develop business plans and budgets that help realize the Community Strategic Plan and providing various stakeholders with timely financial reports on the status of the Town’s operating budget, capital budget, and reserves.
