The Township of Lake of Bays is located in northeastern Muskoka, beside world-renowned Algonquin Park. Known for its natural beauty, charming hamlets, and recreational opportunities, Lake of Bays is a vibrant four-season community.

The Township of Lake of Bays is one of six lower-tier municipalities within the District Municipality of Muskoka. Council consists of 7 members.

Position / Responsibilities / Requirements

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Planning Services is responsible for overseeing the delivery of Planning Services and related activities of the Municipality.

Possessing a University degree in Planning or equivalent is required and having full membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI), accompanied by a Registered Professional Planners (RPP) designation (or working towards it), is required.

You have proven work experience (3-5 years) of practical and demonstrated relevant experience, including significant leadership experience in municipal government as well as proactive experience as a transformational leader and change management champion. Prior experience dealing with key stakeholders like Council, developers, community associations and trade associations is also required.

You are a relationship builder and able to engage partners and colleagues at all levels both in and outside of the organization.
