Malvern Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is a multi service social service agency serving the needs of the Malvern community and residents of North East Scarborough with a mission to strengthen families and residents through inclusive, innovative, and effective programs and services for child and family, youth, women, seniors, and newcomers to Canada.  MFRC has been helping families in the Scarborough North and Scarborough Rouge Park ridings for the past thirty-eight years and has experienced continuous steady growth to keep up with the increasing needs of the community. It is an agency with a reputation for integrity, quality programs and services, qualified and dedicated personnel, and committed funders. MFRC is a champion for people and communities who experience systemic barriers that impact their health and wellness, and is a champion for promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in all its programs and services and for all families.

Position / Responsibilities / Requirements

The current Executive Director is retiring after an accomplished tenure of thirty-five years, and the Board is looking for an outstanding leader with a passion for healthy communities, social inclusion, diversity, and equity who will inspire that same passion across the organization and work collaboratively with funders and community partners to continue to deliver and develop services that meet their needs in an integrated and holistic manner. Reporting directly to an engaged Board of Directors and working closely with committed management and dedicated staff, the Executive Director will be a visionary organizational leader and strategic community partner committed to service excellence, equity, inclusion and diversity and strengthening families and residents across the communities served.

Position Profile

The Executive Director will have at least seven years of relevant non-profit senior management experience. Experience in volunteer sector leadership would be an asset. The Executive Director will hold a graduate degree in business or public administration, or a combination of equivalent education, job-related training, and experience. An extensive knowledge of working with government-funded programs and a proven track record of developing and securing funding strategies for a major non-profit organization will be essential. As a visionary and inspirational leader with excellent interpersonal and communications skills and proficient team building skills, the Executive Director will promote a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement and demonstrate an understanding of working in a culturally diverse and changing community environment.
