Position / Responsibilities |
The City of Richmond Hill is undertaking a comprehensive review of its existing Zoning By-laws to implement the policies and vision of its Official Plan. The City is also currently working on an Official Plan update. To learn more, visit the Zone Richmond Hill page. Reporting to the Manager of Development Zoning & Committee of Adjustment, the Project Manager – Development Zoning, is responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of the City’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law project along with related key planning/zoning initiatives that implement the objectives of the City’s Official Plan including, but not limited to, increasing the supply of housing within the City, including affordable housing and promoting complete and sustainable communities. Other responsibilities include managing the integration of the City’s zoning data within the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS), preparing amendments to the City’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law, as required, and preparing and participating in Ontario Land Tribunal hearings, as necessary. |

Candidate Requirements |
The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Planning or a Related Discipline, Full membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (RPP) and the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP). A Project Management (PMP) designation is an asset. 7 years of municipal planning or planning related experience with some experience in a leadership capacity is required as is comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Planning Act, Provincial policies and plans and other relevant planning legislation. The ideal candidate will also have strong project management and organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience making presentations in public forums, preparing reports, presentations and briefing notes and drafting policies and by-laws. |
