2 Fontbonne Obstetrics and Gynecology (company name 2 Fontbonne Cost Sharing) comprises a group of 10 dedicated Obstetrics and Gynecology physicians (will be 11 as of October 1, 2019) committed to serving the local community through the delivery of high-quality obstetric and gynecology care located based at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and working in partnership with McMaster University to support the education and training of residents, interns and medical students. 2 Fontbonne Obstetrics and Gynecology provides comprehensive women’s health across the Hamilton/Niagara Region with more than 50,000 patient visits per year, while being a leader in women’s health, educating and training obstetrics and gynecology residents along with maintaining access to a full range of obstetric and gynecology services and timely care. 2 Fontbonne Obstetrics and Gynecology works in partnership with St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, Hamilton Health Sciences, McMaster University Medical School, the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Department of Family Medicine.

Position / Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Medical Director and working closely with the Board and the eleven physicians, you will lead a team of around 20 dedicated staff. The Executive Business Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the operations and services of 2 Fontbonne Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Executive Business Manager is responsible for all matters related to finance, compliance, risk, and human resources. The Executive Business Manager will work in partnership with St Joseph’s Healthcare and McMaster University and strategic partners across the healthcare community and be the advocate, champion and resource for special projects and programs that will enhance the profile and sustainability of the organization and be a leader in medical innovation, clinical best practice and leading edge teaching and research.

Candidate Requirements

As a motivational and inclusive leader, the Executive Business Manager will create a cohesive and unified team within 2 Fontbonne Obstetrics and Gynecology and bring highly visible leadership credentials and exceptional communication and relationship building skills to the role. As a business manager, the Executive Business Manager will ensure the most effective and efficient utilization of resources and the development and implementation of a sound financial management plan, with direction and support of the executive committee, which balances service delivery and funding requirements. The Executive Business Manager will have a university degree in health sciences, health or business administration or a related field, and at least five years of experience in a business management or professional leadership role. Work experience within a hospital environment, a physician group, or an integrated healthcare delivery model or primary care environment is an asset but not essential. Above all, the Executive Business Manager will be an individual who has a passion for excellence in the provision of high-quality accessible services.
